To optimize the production for meat industry, the slaughter-houses have to undergo a paradigm shift from traditional pace-line production running often on a two-shift model to a 7-24 production with high-level autonomy and flexibility. Here, robotic system becomes a solution, which has been widely accepted in other manufacturing such as car manufacturing industry. The challenges of using robotics in meat industry rise from the bio-logical variations and the requirement of line speed. To deliver a good product, an adaptive robotic system with real-time visual feedback is thus needed to deal with input variations.
