PCM heat storages are a combination of heat
storages and Phase Change materials (PCM), which can be used in energy systems
for energy storage and supply. PCM heat storages can store higher energy than
traditional water storages and undertake for
peak shaving of high-energy consumption and load shifting heating demands.
This project aims to develop a simulation
program of PCM heat storages and verified by experiments.
Programming work contains simulation of the
PCM thermal behavior and the heat storage. Programming can be implemented in
R, Fortran, Matlab or Python.
Experimental work includes heat loss tests,
charge and discharge cycle tests for the PCM heat storage.
This is a master thesis project.
