Inertial navigation, which is measured with an INS/IMU, is used in connection with positioning, where the best example is navigation for submarines where GNSS doesn’t work. It is also possible to used IMU/INS data for geophysics since the data also gives information about the gravity field.
In this project will the student get to work with one of the institutes IMUs. It will be possible to collect data for the project and thereby the student will go through the full process from collecting data to analyzing the data. In this way the student will gain a knowhow in data collection and how data is to be processed in order to gain the wanted result, being for navigation and/or geophysics._x000D_
