Multilevel Flow Models (MFM) (http://www.mfm.elektro.dtu.dk/english/mfm) has been used to represent various process plants. 

At the current stage, MFM rules are only defined for control taking in one observation and actuating one or more functions. However, MIMO control systems are implemented for some processes as well as on a plant-wide level. To further extend the applicability of MFM toward such processes different control concepts from industry and research should be categorized and analyzed. Based on this survey modeling principles and required aspects for qualitative reasoning for MFM should be proposed. The aim of the project is to identify general qualitative descriptions for complex control and propose modeling principles in the context of MFM.
