Quantification of cracking and deformation in concrete surfaces

The evaluation of the condition and functionality of existing infrastructure, such as bridges, is typically based on visual inspections of highly educated experts and ideally supported by selected physical tests. To document the progress of crack development as the consequence of durability related issues, the development of new techniques allowing fast and accurate detection of crack distributions across a concrete structure is desired.
