UAV geophysical detection of heavy minerals

During the Cenozoic period, spanning the last 66 mio. years, sands enriched in heavy minerals was deposited in Jutland. These minerals may contain an economically viable source of a series of valuable elements such as titanium. It is the scope of this project to use state of the art drone-borne geomagnetic methods in order to locate areas with high concentration of the heavy minerals. Samples will then be taken and analysed in the lab in order to conduct a statistical analysis of the heavy mineral content, thus providing proof of concept for drone-based heavy mineral exploration.
