Global Sea Level Change from Satellite: Regional Changes and Causes

It is well confirmed that sea level is rising in nearly all parts of the world’s ocean. A common global value often quoted is 3 mm / year. However the changes are far from uniform and ranges from larger than 1 cm/year to places where is is actually dropping during the past 2 decades. These regional changes are fundamentally linked to the causes of sea level changes like warming of the ocean and melting of the ice caps._x000D_ _x000D_ The aim is to use satellite altimetry and other remote sensing data over the past 20 years to study these changes and relationship with sea surface temperature and ice-cap melting proxies.
