Ship maneuvering simulation using CFD

A vessels ability to manoeuvre is very important for the operation and safety. Traditional the manoeuvrability has in tested in the design stage in towing tanks in model scale. 

In this project, the manoeuvrability will be simulated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The used CFD software could be STAR-CCM+. Results from towing tank testing are available for comparison and validation.

The project scope will be adapted to the skills and experience of the student or students.
