You think writing a publication for a scientific journal is only for the few and selected at DTU. Think again!

Are you interested, and know chemistry or chemical engineering, then this may be a project for you. Please contact Philip Fosbøl, PLF@kt.dtu.dk for further details.

You think writing a publication for a scientific journal is only for the few and selected at DTU. Think again. Get an existing dataset – I have plenty - you are not supposed to measure data; search the literature for similar data. Write a short description of what you found. List, plot, and discuss the data and conclude briefly. Write what could be done in the future and what is the benefit of the data. For the datasets we have, the topic will be issues on crystallisation and solubility phenomena.

You may need to recalculate or summarise bigger dataset in order to reach a feasible content.

Get to know how to write for a scientific journal on format, references, syntax, structure, approach, and red-threat. Get your name on the publication while we submit and finalise the proof together.

This course is for you, if you recently finalised a course containing a written exam. It could also be that you recently finalised a bigger project where you wrote a longer scientific text. It is time for you to harvest your experiences and publish.

You are very welcome to bring your own data and we can discuss the content. You are expected to focus on the writing and the results.

You do not have to love writing, but you should be able to present at least two reports to me which you wrote previously eg. in a course, which you believe were well written. It may be a benefit to have experience in literature search eg. through the short DTIC/DTV course on information searching.

Requirements

You should be able to show me 2 well written reports which you have handed in from a course.

Technical University of Denmark

For almost two centuries DTU, Technical University of Denmark, has been dedicated to fulfilling the vision of H.C. Ørsted – the father of electromagnetism – who founded the university in 1829 to develop and create value using the natural sciences and the technical sciences to benefit society.

Today, DTU is ranked as one of the foremost technical universities in Europe, continues to set new records in the number of publications, and persistently increases and develops our partnerships with industry, and assignments accomplished by DTU’s public sector consultancy.
