CFD simulation of wind conditions around buildings

Simulation of wind around buildings is important due to the need to analyze pedestrian wind comfort and wind resources around buildings. For high rise buildings many urban authorities require wind comfort studies (by wind tunnel or by CFD) before a building permit is granted. 
The project/assignment could be carried out on one or more of the following topics:
1. Wind conditions and pedestrian comfort around buildings or building blocks
2. Pollutant dispersion around buildings or in a city block
3. Building design and wind load calculations
4. Own topics in the relevant field
Ansys Fluent/CFX or other CFD code will be used in the project.
Joint supervision with a consulting company could be arranged.
