Project

Neandodrome - production of acient pheromones in moss

Publisher

Supervisor

Location

Greater Copenhagen area

Through genetic engineering of the simple moss plant, this project will engineer the moss to produce male (human) pheromones. The pheromones all arise from the precursor cholesterol, and thus the initial part is to upregulate the production of cholesterol. The project is part of the larger project Neandomore that will explore the pheromones from extinct human species like the Neanderthal and Divisonian men. Overall the project aim to re-establish ancient pheromones and compare these with modern human pheromones.
