Dynamic test method for a single solar thermal collector

Solar thermal collectors are the key device of converting solar energy into thermal energy.

Solar thermal collectors have different types. Non-concentrating collectors are commonly seen as flat plate, evacuated tubular or heat pipe solar collectors. Concentrating solar collectors include parabolic trough collector (PTC) or Compound Parabolic Collector (CPC).

Solar thermal collectors need to be tested before marketing for thermal performance evaluation and certification by identifying key thermal parameters such as maximum efficiency, heat loss coefficient, etc. 

The aim of this project is to develop/improve a common dynamic test method for testing different solar collectors under transient weather conditions. Further, the test method needs to be verified by experimental data analysis.

The developed/improved dynamic test method can be implemented for different collector types and the comparison results have a high possibility of forming a scientific paper.
