Background: 

Vanadium oxide dispersed on high surface anatase titania is a well known catalyst for reducing harmful NO gasses to N2 through the selective catalytic reduction using ammonia as the reductant. In an ongoing esearch project we are analysing the anatase surface structure and the coordination of vanadium, ammonia and other SCR relevant species at the catalyst operating conditions.

The Project: 

Analyzing the absorption sites of ammonia with IR spectroscopy on newly developed V-SCR catalysts and further the behavior of these sites when exposed to SCR relevant conditions.
