Mikrofluid strømning i roterende skiver

I skiver af samme størrelse som DVD diske indbygger man på DTU Nanotech mikrofluid kanaler og perfusionskamre til studier af f.eks, levende celler. Gennem kanalerne transporteres næring til cellerne i perfusionskamre og affaldsstoffer fra metabolisme transporteres bort. Væskestrømningerne drives af centrifugalkraften og kapillare effekter. I dette projekt ønskes opstillet en matematisk model for fluid strømningen gennem kanaler og perfusionskamre baseret på de fluid dynamiske grundligninger. Modellen skal bruges til at undersøge hvilke designs af kanaler og perfursionskamre fungerer bedst under hensyntagen til eksperimentelle behov.

Partielle differentialligninger og numeriske metoder. Fluiddynamik.
