Screening of projects in relation to the SDGs

Greater Copenhagen area

In 2015 United Nations (UN) introduced the 17 Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) for the 2030 Agenda, as a further development of the eight Millennium Goals from 2000. The 17 SDGs are based on five pillars; people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership. The pillars manifest that sustainable development is enforced for the sake of the people to ensure future generations prosperous lives. This is achieved by maintaining a healthy relationship with the planet. Since the building industry accounts for one third of all consumptions of global resources and almost half of the world’s energy use, many of the SDGs will have to focus on this industry to truly reach many of their environmental sustainability goals.

This project will focus on how finalized projects contribute to the fulfillment of the SDGs. The project should evaluate the given projects based on the SDGs, especially focusing on social sustainability. The project is part of an overall evaluation of how a consultant company in Denmark have worked with the SDGs in past and present projects.

Desire to work with sustainability in the building industry and be a part of the development towards a more sustainable future.
