Micromechanics of Mode II crack tips in composites and adhesive layers

The purpose of the study is to study the formation of a damage zone (microcracks) ahead of a macro-crack under Mode II and to compare the damage evolution and Mode II fracture energy with predictions of the model of Xia and Hutchinson.
