Project

Health and environmental assessment of drinking water quality on ships

Publisher

Supervisor

Location

Greater Copenhagen area

Maersk Line is facing a high demand for bottled water on their ships. The ships produce their own (distilled) drinking water from excess heat and crews are complaining about the taste. There has also been expressed some some concern related to drinking demineralised water for longer periods.

This project shall in collaboration with Maersk Line investigate options for remineralizing the distilled water as an alternative to bottled water. The project should investigate health and environmental impacts related to both water remineralization and bottled water consumption.

Please note, the project has to run in the autumn 2018.
