When designing space based telescopes for X-ray astronomy - it is vital that the telescope performance under ideal and non-ideal conditions is thoroughly understood, as obviously mistakes cannot be remedied once the telescope has been launched.
In this project you will work on developing telescope simulations and learn to understand the workings of the optics under various conditions.

blocks of Silicon Pore Optics modules.

* The proposed mission Arcus, which will include gratings as an optical element.
As part of the design and validation
process DTU Space and DTU Physics have teamed up - and are
performing simulations of the telescopes, both in parts and as a
complete optical setup. Students participating will develop tools to
investigate many of the aspects of the telescopes.
