Solar water disinfection (SODIS) is a process whereby UV rays from sunlight are used to destroy bacteria, viruses and other pathogens within contaminated water. 

In this project the efficiency of the SODIS process should be analysed, taking into account one or more factors, which include but are not limited to:

- Wavelength of light
- Irradiance 
- Temperature 
- Photocatalysis 
- Contaminants present in water (inc. bacteria, viruses, protozoa, pesticides, herbicides, petrochemicals, heavy metals)
