Tracking algorithms to measure ball and equipment kinematics across sports

TrackMan develops, manufactures and sells sports measurement systems based on Doppler radar and camera technologies. Our tracking algorithms are used to measure ball and equipment kinematics across sports, converting the raw radar signals and video feeds into accurate and meaningful data on the performance of the athlete.

We can offer projects within the following categories:

  • Mathematical modelling, e.g. measuring and analyzing on swing, impact or aerodynamic models
  • Signal processing, e.g. tracking algorithms in radar signals
  • Machine learning, e.g. classification of pitch type in baseball
  • Computer vision, e.g. ball tracking using recurrent CNN's or automated camera calibration methods
DTU supervisor could be a DTU Space employee.

Requirements

A strong mathematical foundation is a prerequisite for most projects and good coding skills are an advantage.
